Puducherry CENTAC UG NEET 2026: Applications Open for MBBS, BDS, BAMS & BVSc Seats

Aug 1, 2026

If you're a NEET-UG 2026 qualified candidate eyeing a medical, dental, ayurveda, or veterinary seat in Puducherry, the wait is over. The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), under the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Puducherry, has officially opened applications for first-year admissions to M.B.B.S., B.D.S., B.A.M.S. (Ayurveda), and B.V.Sc. & A.H. (National Self-Supporting and NRI seats only) courses for the academic year 2026–2027.

Here's a complete breakdown of what's on offer, who's eligible, what it'll cost you, and the dates you absolutely cannot miss.

The Official Notice at a Glance

The notification (Ref. No. CENTAC/UG-NEET/2026/01, dated 30.07.2026) invites online applications from NEET-UG 2026 qualified candidates for admission into government and self-financing colleges across Puducherry. Applications are being accepted under four broad quota categories: Government Quota, All India (Management) / Self-Supporting (SS) Quota, NRI Quota, and NRI Sponsored Quota.

Which Courses and Quotas Are Available

The seat availability varies by course, so it's worth understanding exactly what applies to your target program.

Medical (MBBS) seats are open under Government Quota, the U.T. of Puducherry Minority Quota (Telugu), All India Management Quota, and NRI Quota.

Dental (BDS) follows the exact same quota structure as Medical — Government Quota, Minority Quota (Telugu), All India Management Quota, and NRI Quota.

Ayurveda (BAMS) seats are available under Government Quota and All India Management Quota, though the Management Quota seats for Ayurveda only open up from Round 3 of counselling onward — worth noting if you're planning your rounds strategy.

B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Veterinary) is a bit different from the rest: only National Self-Supporting Quota and NRI Quota seats are on offer here. There's no general Government Quota route for veterinary this year under this notification.

Who Qualifies for Each Quota

Eligibility isn't just about your NEET score — residency and category status matter just as much.

The Government Quota is reserved strictly for residents of the U.T. of Puducherry.

The All India (Management) / National Self-Supporting Quota casts a wider net—it's open to residents of Puducherry, residents of other Indian states, and OCI cardholders, provided the OCI status was obtained before 04.03.2021.

The Minority (Telugu) Management Quota is limited to residents of Puducherry.

For NRI Quota in MBBS/BDS, eligibility extends to NRIs, NRI-sponsored candidates, OCIs, OCI-sponsored candidates, and foreign nationals.

The NRI Quota in B.V.Sc. & A.H., however, is limited strictly to NRIs and OCIs — foreign nationals and OCI-sponsored candidates aren't included here.

What You'll Pay in Application Fees

Fees differ depending on both the quota you're applying under and whether you fall into the SC/ST/PwD category as a Puducherry resident.

For the Government Quota, Puducherry residents from SC/ST/PwD categories pay Rs. 500, while all other applicants pay Rs. 1000.

The Management Quota carries a flat application fee of Rs. 2000, regardless of category.

For NRI, NRI Sponsored, OCI, OCI Sponsored, or Foreign National applicants, the fee is a flat Rs. 5000.

Documents You'll Need to Upload

If you're claiming "Residence of Puducherry" status, be ready with a set of renewed certificates, all dated on or after 01.01.2026:

A Residence Certificate is mandatory, along with a Community Certificate — but note that certificates issued in the format meant for Central Educational Institutions will not be accepted here.

If you're applying under EWS, your Income Certificate needs to be issued by the Revenue Department on or after 01.04.2026. A general Income Certificate also needs to be dated on or after 01.04.2026.

Candidates from Karaikal, Mahe, or Yanam should be ready with Regional Reservation proof, and those under special categories — Freedom Fighter, Person with Benchmark Disability (UDID card), Ex-Serviceman, Meritorious Sports Person, or Government School Quota — need the respective supporting certificates. Government School Quota specifically requires a Transfer Certificate confirming continuous study in Puducherry government schools from Standard 1 through 12.

Telugu Minority Quota applicants need a Transfer Certificate or school-issued certificate confirming Telugu as their mother tongue.

Important Instructions You Shouldn't Skip

A few compliance points from the notice deserve extra attention. Candidates must enter their NEET All-India Rank exactly as it appears on their NEET 2026 Score Card — not any other rank reference.

Applications with fake certificates, or from candidates claiming residency or nativity in multiple states, will be rejected outright, and the notice warns this could invite legal action. Submitting duplicate applications is equally risky: both applications get cancelled, and the candidature itself stands cancelled.

Candidates are also deemed to have automatically accepted all terms in the CENTAC UG NEET 2026 Information Brochure simply by submitting their application — so it's worth reading that brochure on the official CENTAC website before you hit submit.

A Special Note for MSP (Sports Quota) Candidates

If you're applying under the Meritorious Sports Person category, the submission process depends on where you're based. Candidates from the Puducherry region must submit a copy of their application along with self-attested Sports Certificates in person at the CENTAC office in Kamarajar Manimandapam, on or before 06.08.2026, 5:00 p.m.

Candidates from Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam regions can instead upload self-attested scanned copies of their Sports Certificates as a single PDF through their login dashboard, by the same deadline.

Key Dates to Mark Right Now

Online applications opened on 30.07.2026.

The last date for submission of online applications is 06.08.2026, 5:00 p.m. — and this is also the deadline for MSP candidates to submit their sports certificates, whether in person or via upload.

There's no indication in the notice of any provision for late submissions, so treat this deadline as final.

Where to Go for More Information

For the full CENTAC UG NEET 2026 Information Brochure, further clarifications, or to raise a grievance, candidates should head to the official website, www.centacpuducherry.in, or use the Login Dashboard grievance option. The helpline numbers listed are 0413-2655570 and 0413-2655571.

Bottom Line

This is a compressed application window - just one week from opening to closing—so if Puducherry is on your counselling radar, don't leave your documentation for the last day. Double-check your quota eligibility, get your certificates dated correctly, and verify your NEET rank entry carefully before submission. With litigation still pending on the MSP quota and strict rules around duplicate or fraudulent applications, precision matters more than speed here - but you don't have much time for either.
