How many BDS Management Quota seats are available in Phase I?
Private un-aided non-minority dental colleges offer 14 colleges and 1,300 intake, with 64 B1 seats, 390 B2 seats and 196 NRI seats, which is 650 Management Quota seats. Twelve colleges with 100 intake each carry 5 B1, 30 B2 and 15 NRI seats, and two colleges with 50 intake (Care Dental College, Guntur, and G. Pulla Reddy Dental College, Kurnool) carry 2, 15 and 8. The minority college, Nimra Institute of Dental Sciences, Jupudi, offers 35 Category B and 15 NRI seats.
What is the difference between B1, B2 and NRI seats?
B1: filled first in each college by merit, open to candidates from all over the country and Andhra Pradesh.
B2: open only to local candidates of Andhra Pradesh, filled after B1 seats in that college are exhausted.
NRI (Category C): only candidates who opted as NRI in the merit list can apply.
Vacant NRI seats: under G.O.Ms.134 and 135 dated 11.09.2026, these become NRI lapsed seats, filled in Phase-III (Mop Up) or later only by candidates who applied for NRI lapsed seats.
How much are the university fee and tuition fee?
University fee: Rs. 18,100 for Category B and Rs. 40,100 for Category C (NRI), paid online to download the allotment order, and not refundable or adjustable.
Tuition fee, Category B: Rs. 4,84,000 per annum.
Tuition fee, Category C (NRI): up to Rs. 14,52,000 per annum, varying by college. NRI fees listed run from Rs. 5,50,000 at G. Pulla Reddy Dental College, Kurnool, to Rs. 14,52,000 at CKS Theja Institute, Tirupati, and Narayana Dental College, Nellore.
Tuition is an interim figure under G.O.Ms.785 dated 29.08.2026, subject to pending writ petitions, and is collected year by year over four years.
Can I change my options after submitting?
No. Options are final once the web options window closes, and no request to change options or college order is entertained. An OTP is sent to your registered mobile and email when you submit, changes made before the deadline are saved automatically, and you should print the saved options.
What happens if I am allotted a seat but do not join?
Allotted candidates must report to the college Principal before the date on the allotment letter with original certificates and pay the tuition and college fee, or admission is cancelled automatically. A candidate who does not report in Phase I can join Phase II, but that particular seat is not available to them again. Seat blocking can lead to legal action, and leaving the course after admissions close requires a Rs. 1,00,000 discontinuation fee, paid through the Principal.
Who is eligible for NRI seats and the minority college?
NRI seats are open to actual NRIs, foreign nationals, and OCI or PIO cardholders (those registered on or after 04.03.2021 qualify only for NRI seats), as well as students sponsored by an NRI relative, such as an uncle, aunt, grandparent or first-degree cousin, who must ordinarily live abroad and have looked after the student as guardian, with a declaration and supporting documents submitted. Original documents are checked at the college, and false documents lead to automatic cancellation. At Nimra Institute, only Muslim minority candidates can exercise options, and unfilled seats pass to non-minority candidates in the Stray Round.
