Jharkhand NEET UG 2026 Round 1 Counselling: Registration Deadline

Aug 26, 2026

Jharkhand's medical counselling clock has started ticking for 2026, and the window to register for Round 1 is tight. If you're eyeing a state-quota MBBS or BDS seat in Jharkhand, missing this registration deadline means missing the first - and often the best - shot at a seat.

Here's the complete schedule, seat breakdown, and what you need to do before the window shuts.

Jharkhand NEET UG Counselling 2026: Current Status at a Glance

The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released the official schedule for Round 1 counselling, based on NEET UG 2026 scores.

Key dates to note:

  • Online registration window: August 7 to August 11, 2026 (up to 3:00 PM)

  • State merit list release: August 12, 2026

  • Round 1 online counselling begins: August 13, 2026

  • Counselling stages: Four in total — Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and a Stray Vacancy Round

Registration closes strictly at 3:00 PM on August 11, and late submissions are typically not accepted, so this isn't a deadline to cut close.

Who This Counselling Is For

Jharkhand NEET UG Counselling 2026 covers admission to MBBS, BDS, and BHMS courses under the 85% State Quota in government and private medical and dental colleges of Jharkhand. Candidates must have qualified NEET UG 2026 and meet Jharkhand's domicile requirements to apply for the state merit list.

The remaining 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats are filled separately through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) - not through JCECEB.

Seat Availability: What's on the Table

  • 730 MBBS seats in government medical colleges, filled through JCECEB counselling

  • 200 MBBS seats in private medical colleges, also filled through JCECEB counselling

  • AIIMS Deoghar (125 seats) and Manipal Tata Medical College (200 seats) are counselled separately by MCC and are not part of the JCECEB process

If your target college falls under AIIMS Deoghar or Manipal Tata, registering with JCECEB alone won't get you there - you'll need to track the MCC counselling schedule for those seats.

Security Deposit and Fees

Candidates need to factor in a refundable security deposit as part of registration:

  • Government colleges: Rs. 20,000 for General/EWS candidates; Rs. 10,000 for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates

  • Private/deemed medical colleges: Rs. 2 lakh

  • Private/deemed dental colleges: Rs. 1 lakh

JCECEB has stated the security deposit will be refunded within three months of the last counselling round, subject to prescribed conditions - so this isn't a sunk cost, but it does need to be budgeted for upfront.

Documents to Keep Ready

Before starting registration, have these ready for upload:

  • NEET UG 2026 scorecard and admit card

  • Class 10th and Class 12th mark sheets

  • Domicile certificate

  • Valid photo ID proof

  • Four passport-size photographs

  • Caste certificate (if applicable)

  • PwD certificate (if applicable)

Missing or mismatched documents at this stage can delay verification later, so it's worth double-checking every upload against the original before submitting.

What Hasn't Changed

A few structural elements remain consistent with previous Jharkhand counselling cycles:

  • Quota split: 85% state quota via JCECEB, 15% AIQ via MCC, unchanged from prior years

  • Four-round structure: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and Stray Vacancy remain the standard format

  • Choice-editing window: JCECEB continues to offer a separate choice-editing window before seat allotment in every round, so candidates can revise preferences after registration closes

What to Do Before August 11

  • Register early - don't wait for the last day given the hard 3:00 PM cutoff

  • Keep the security deposit amount ready based on your target college type (government vs. private/deemed)

  • Cross-check your domicile and category documents now, since errors here tend to surface during verification, not registration

  • Track the merit list on August 12 closely - your rank on this list determines your standing for Round 1 choice filling, which opens right after

Key Things to Remember

  • Registration for Jharkhand NEET UG 2026 Round 1 counselling runs from August 7 to August 11, 2026, up to 3:00 PM

  • The state merit list will be published on August 12, with Round 1 counselling starting August 13

  • JCECEB fills 730 government and 200 private MBBS seats under the 85% state quota; AIIMS Deoghar and Manipal Tata Medical College are counselled separately by MCC

  • Security deposit ranges from Rs. 10,000–20,000 for government colleges to Rs. 1–2 lakh for private/deemed colleges, refundable within three months of the final round

  • Late registration is typically not accepted, so treat August 11, 3:00 PM as a hard deadline

  • Four counselling rounds are planned in total: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and Stray Vacancy
